Architecture is and has always been a dream and function as well as an expression of a utopia and instrument of convenience. Architecture as the expression of our values – our way of building is a mirror of the way we live. In our practice, we put imagination, quality of life, and the relationship to the natural environment at the center of our practice. In the reality of our work, we generate design, evolving out of a specific context at a unique place.
We believe the best buildings come out of a synthesis of all the elements that separately comprise and inform the character of the built result: the structure that holds it up; the services that allow it to function; its ecology; the quality of natural light; the symbolism of the form; the relationship of the building to the skyline or the streetscape; the way you move through or around it; and last but not least its ability to lift the spirits. This holistic approach is augmented by a strong commitment to the clients we serve, and also to the public domain and the many users involved.
Each project we undertake is unique and we aim to generate bespoke solutions that meet the needs of its connected users and stakeholders. We work in well defined steps towards the implementation of the project, supported by a transdisciplinary team.
Our four main steps in our working process ensure that the right things get done at the right time by the right people in order to integrate the complex requirements to deliver integrated interior design solutions:
We investigate the given conditions that generate the generic framework for the future building design: understanding the location, its topography, climate, culture and legal frameworks; the project brief with its specific needs and possible interpretations of the program, its market environment and pathways to add new perspectives into the design process.
Result: Enhanced Design Brief and Context Mapping
The design concept is generated in an iterative process to include technical, socio-economical and artistic aspects of the future building. It tests solutions in a variety of approaches to find and appropriate form and the related spaces, building materials and building technology concepts. We communicate the results of the process and potential alternatives in a concise and visual manner towards the project owners.
Results: working models, content frameworks, draft guidelines, mappings, design solution concepts, etc.
Following the design concept phase the building design gets elaborated in all the needed details to fully describe it with all the needed documentations. Technical solutions, materials, colors, lights and technical solutions are clarified and defined as a preparation for the construction approval process and the coming tender for the construction works. The result of this working phase is depending on the specific project profile.
Results: design guidelines, detail designs, product or service specifications, movies, presentations, plans, etc.
We are leading or supervising the construction phase of our building projects. We ensure that our work is implemented as intended until the very details on the site and the future handover.
Results: implementation guideline and quality management support etc.
